I got more confuse about the meaning of girl and woman after I checked the dictionary.
The Ancient Greek aphorism "Know yourself" was inscribed in the forecourt of the Temple of Apollo at Delphi. I remember it said by Socrates, he is one of my favorite western philosophers. As a human being, gender is a main feature and deeply affects our emotions, thoughts, behaviors…, so why I choose theses two words.
I would wonder when dose people call her a woman instead of a girl. I assume when our secondary sexual characteristics appears, and then people think the girl becomes woman. Is that true? If that is true, now, we can call an 11 or 12 years old girl a woman. Or maybe we think after she has sexual experiences, then she becomes woman, according the definition, if she never do that, even she is 40, then we still regard her as a girl or what?

What are the attributes in the woman? It should more than sexual issues, such as independence, wisdoms, maternity….maybe have some negative attributes. In my cultural context, you are always a girl unless you marry and have children, have your own family.
I didn't think about these things before. You grow up, then someday the people call you miss instead of girl. I wanna figure out is there a line between girl and woman, and how we cross that, and how it feel after the change. I am a little embarrassing about this situation. You do not really know what happen to you as if you had a dream. Anyway, it's a nice beginning to know yourself. Don't you think so?
